Tanzanian Government Pledges Support and Creates Favorable Conditions for Sugar Factory Owners

The Tanzanian government has recently assured sugar factory owners of its continued support and commitment to creating a favorable investment environment. During a visit to the Bagamoyo Sugar Factory, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Dr. Selemani Jafo, emphasized the administration's dedication to protecting and fostering local industries.

Dr. Jafo encouraged the factory to increase its production to help meet the national sugar demand, which stands at 802,000 tonnes annually. He also highlighted the importance of supporting local industries to ensure their sustainability and urged citizens to have confidence in domestic enterprises.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to address sugar shortages and promote self-sufficiency in Tanzania. The government is also supporting factory expansions and encouraging new investments to boost production capacity.
